Mr. Gasket High Performance Thermostat is designed to protest big variations in coolant pressure that occur at high rpm’s where coolant temperature and coolant pressure fight for control of the thermostat keeping it from opening at it is indicated temperature. Its opening temperature rating is 180 degree. The balanced HP thermostat features all brass and copper construction, and opens at the right temperature no matter of engine RPM. Its balanced design does away with damaging thermostat cycling in stop-and-go situations.

 no need for the oem type.

these are what used to come in the old engines of the ’6os. then the restrictive crappy ones came along. this is the one you need!
